Our advanced filtration system uses a multistage process.

Using activated carbon, we remove large irritants inc. microplastics, rust, and heavy metals. This helps to dissolve chemicals (chlorine and chloramine). 

Then the water is pushed through the hollow fibre Japanese ultrafiltration (UF) membrane, capturing tiny irritants as small as 0.01 microns. This includes removing bacteria, fungus, parasites and viruses from the water.

It is housed with ABS which protects the internal filter without altering the water or disrupting the flow rate. Filters are BPA free and fully recyclable.

Each Lushi Filter cartridge is designed to last approximately three months, depending on your local water quality and usage. For best results and consistently clean water, we recommend replacing it within this timeframe. Homes with higher mineral content may find they need to replace it a little sooner.

You can test the levels of chlorine in your tap water by using pool chlorine test drops, this will indicate how strong the chemical levels are in your area and help you forecast how often you may need to change your filter.

If your water pressure drops, you notice an unusual scent, or your skin doesn't feel as clean after rinsing, it's probably time to replace your cartridge.

If you purchase your starter kit on a subscription your filter refill will be sent to you automatically every 3 months for $59.

If you purchase a one-time starter kit, you can come back and purchase your filter as your require it for $75.

Lushi Filter is designed to fit the majority of standard household taps, and we include multiple adapters to cover a wide range of sizes. That said, very old taps, specialty designer taps, or taps with unusual thread sizes may need a little extra love. Yes — and we have lots of happy customers using their Lushi Filter on the bath! Installing it on your bathtub tap works the same way as a sink tap: remove the aerator (if there is one), select the right adapter, and screw on your filter. It's a great way to give your bath water the same purifying treatment as your shower and sink. Your Lushi Filter comes with a set of adapters to suit the most common tap sizes. To find your match, try each one until you get a snug, secure fit with no wobbling or gaps. We recommend hand-tightening only — overtightening can cause leaks. If you've worked through all the included adapters and nothing fits, don't stress\! Reach out to our team at hello@lushifilter.com with a photo of your tap and we'll help you find the right solution. Some older or non-standard taps may need a specialty adapter, and we're happy to help sort it.

Most taps have a small aerator screwed into the tip of the spout — this needs to come out before you attach your Lushi Filter. You can usually unscrew it by hand (righty-tighty, lefty-loosey!), or use a coin or cloth for extra grip if it's on tight. Some aerators are recessed inside the tap rather than on the outside — if yours looks flush with the tap, pop into our installation video for a step-by-step walkthrough. Once it's out, you're ready to find your perfect adapter and get filtering

A small reduction in flow is completely normal — your Lushi Filter is working hard to remove chlorine, heavy metals, microplastics, and more at a 0.01 micron level, which takes a little more effort than unfiltered water! That said, you shouldn't feel like you're waiting around. To get the best flow, we recommend opening your tap to about half pressure rather than full blast. If the flow feels unusually slow or has dropped off since you first installed it, it could be a sign your filter cartridge is due for a change. If you're within your filter's expected lifespan and still experiencing issues, please reach out at hello@lushifilter.com with a short video and we'll help troubleshoot.

A little dripping usually just means the adapter needs a slightly tighter fit — hand-tighten a little more and check again. If the leak is coming from around the filter housing itself, try removing the filter, checking the seal is seated correctly, and screwing it back on firmly. Make sure you're using the right adapter for your tap size too, as the wrong fit can cause gaps. If you've tried all of the above and it's still leaking, we want to make it right! Lushi Filter is designed to maintain a strong, satisfying flow while it filters — most customers notice little to no difference in their everyday water use. For the best experience, we recommend running your tap at around half pressure rather than full blast, which helps the filter work at its most effective. Some taps with naturally lower water pressure may notice a slightly reduced flow, but this is usually minimal.
